What is a Customs Broker?

A customs broker is a licensed individual or company that is the liaison between the importer/exporter and CBP to make sure that goods being imported or exported have met all requirements and the necessary fees are correct for payment to CBP. 

We are licensed by the U.S Government and the State of Texas. 

Why do I need a Customs Broker?

Customs Brokers help simplify the Import/Export process of moving products into and out of the Country. Customs Brokers:  confirm markings on Imports, calculate value of goods so duties, fees and tax submission to CBP are correct, acquire bonds on behalf on their clients, classification of goods for import, interpret FTA and Foreign Trade Zones, file ISF and clear goods for entry, Intellectual Property Rights experts, and file Duty Drawback refunds on behalf of their clients.

What are Duty Drawbacks?

Duty drawback is the refund of certain duties, taxes, and certain fees collected upon the importation of merchandise. Refunds are only allowed upon the exportation or destruction of the imported merchandise, a certain manufactured article, or a valid substitute. 

What is Customs Clearance?

“Customs Clearance” or “clearing customs” is a phrase we hear a lot in our business. What it really means is the goods that are being imported has met all CBP’s requirements for entering our borders.

What is a Texas Customs Broker?

A Texas Customs Broker is the only one who can certify to the Texas Comptroller's Office that a good has been exported thereby allowing the purchaser to receive 100% of all sales tax back in the form of a refund.  The purchased item must be exported within 30 days to qualify for the refund. The purchase must not be perishable and the purchaser has a statue of limitations of 4 years to claim the refund.
